Schedule a No-Cost Energy Assessment

Summary: Insulation and Air Seal for free or minimum charge

Description

Why an assessment of your home and energy systems?

  1. Are your energy bills higher than you like? Do you just feel like energy is being wasted, but you don't know where, or what to do about it?
  2. Do you want to get rid of cold drafts, moisture or mold in your home?
  3. Improve temperature control?
  4. Insulate against noise?
  5. Address problems with ice dams and other structural concerns?
  6. Are you concerned about your home contributing to allergies, asthma, or heat related health issues?

A Mass Save Home Energy Assessment can help!  And it's no-cost!

Newburyport is partnered with the non-profit All in Energy, a Mass Save® participating Home Performance Contractor, to provide eligible Newburyport residents with no-cost home energy assessments. Join your neighbors who have already had an assessment and are now saving money and energy every month on their utility bills.

Rebates! With your no-cost Mass Save® home energy assessment you’ll receive:

If you had an assessment in the last two years and already have a Mass Save insulation recommendation, you can still qualify for the incentive! Check with the company that did that assessment to check if you qualify, and if you do, the incentive will be applied to the existing assessment.

A Mass Save Home Energy Assessment is the first step to take before making any changes to your home and will give you a good idea of its energy efficiency and help guide you in deciding on actions you can take.

Deep Dive

Why is it no-cost to me? As a National Grid customer, you have already been paying into this program on your utility bill, so it’s worthwhile to take advantage of it. Thanks to the Green Communities Act of 2008, Massachusetts utilities and energy efficiency service providers that sponsor Mass Save are required by the state to provide energy efficiency programs.

What does a home energy assessment entail? A customized energy report tailored specifically to your home.  Go to All in Energy to schedule your assessment.

Energy-saving products recommended during your assessment at no cost, and for you to install, include:

  1. ENERGY STAR® LED light bulbs
  2. Advanced power strips
  3. Low-flow showerheads
  4. Faucet aerators
  5. Efficient thermostats

Also:

  1. 75% - 100% off approved insulation improvements.
  2. No-cost targeted air sealing.
  3. Generous rebates on qualifying energy-efficient heating, cooling, and water heating equipment.
  4. The opportunity to apply for 0% HEAT Loan financing for eligible upgrades.

I had one of these a while ago. Can I have one again? If you have not had your home assessed in the last two years, you can have it done again. It may be time to improve your insulation or check out technologies like smart thermostats, and the incentives for new heating systems have increased as well so it’s a good idea to revisit the plan for your home.

You may be eligible for additional incentives on energy efficiency improvements if you have low or moderate income.

  4. You will then schedule a date for any recommended insulation and air sealing. These in-home improvements will only be completed upon your approval.
